The Kid Next Door Is Ashamed And Hungry

Neither Trump nor Biden get it. And chances are if you can pay your internet bill and read this, you do not truly understand what is going on, either. The economy is not getting better. For everyone out there touting the stock market, I have a number for you: 10. Less than ten percent of Americans are impacted by the stock market. Here are a couple other numbers: 189,000+. That is how many people are dead because of COVID and I predict that by New Years Day, the number will nearly double. How about 30 Million? Over 30 Million people are on some form of unemployment with hundreds of thousands of others unable to still get their benefits. And while you may say that the money is helping, I am not too familiar with where $200 a week will pay for food, clothing, utilities, transportation, insurance, fuel — you get the point — for a family with simply ONE child! Let me take that just a little bit further. How about those families whom depend upon child support to raise children in a one parent home? Yeah, not a lot of that trickling in these days.

On the same day in late August that MGM Resorts announced it would be laying off a quarter of its workforce, throwing some 18,000 workers into unemployment, its stock price jumped more than 6 percent, reaching its highest closing price since the start of March.

Permanent job losses are rising, pay per hour and the hours themselves are declining, and Rome is burning down. Forget Chicken Little’s warning about the sky is falling, the streets are overrun and mathematically, there are far more rioters than law enforcement — the pitchforks will be coming soon. This is not a metaphor, this is the stark reality of what happens when people are baking in 120+ degree temperatures — LA just set a record on par with Death Valley — and they are forced into rolling power blackouts because of greed and profiteering. It’s not simply California, though, as I am sure there are enough Trumpers out there whom will argue it is a Blue State problem. Have you taken a look at Texas or Florida lately?

Forget the politics, the daily reality in the US has become almost as dire as third world countries. Currently, the US has the highest rate of children in hunger than any other G-7 Nation! This is not an illegal alien issue; this is not a Black Lives Matter issue; this is an AMERICAN issue!

It’s not simply a Trumpian dystopia, either. For the first time, in years, I am now, once again, on food stamps. My son has returned to school only to find that the teachers are almost as afraid as he is. I have two long term friends from the Mortgage Field Services Industry whom have died from COVID and know of nine others whom were infected.

Using the stock market to state that the economy is far better than before is simply stating that our Congressional and White House Leadership agree that we have two classes: One class that profits from the nearly $20 Trillion pumped into the economy since September 2019 — yes, the economy went off the rails long before COVID — at 1/8th a percent of interest and another economy where people like myself and my fellow Americans continue to shoulder the burden of 20% credit card interest rates. Moratoriums like the one recently put out by CDC for renters making under $99K are useless. Only valid through December 31st, the problem is that on New Year’s Day, ALL OF THAT MONEY IS DUE immediately! And if I hear another Trumpian yelling that the vaccine is coming, the vaccine is coming, here is a small medical course to educate you on why it really doesn’t mean shit.

The vaccine must be stored at minus 112 degrees Fahrenheit. I am not familiar with too many doctor’s offices whom have that ability to even store it, let alone administer it. But wait, it gets better! You need a MINIMUM of two doses! Add to that the problems of multiple types of vaccines whom are all feeding at the Trump Trough of blank check spending and you just really, really have to wonder how that is going to work out.

Let’s just say, for shits and grins, a single mother with three kids somehow managed to get her children aged 18 months, 3 and 6 on the city bus — because Santander just seized her vehicle for lack of payment. They arrive disheveled at the Wal Mart parking lot — Wal Mart will definitely host it as that amount of foot traffic means profits. Like herds of cattle the poor of our Nation will be pushed through stalls, shot with a syrup of black tar looking shit with air guns — same way in the military — and then some papers shoved in their hands mumbling something from behind their NASA Mars looking CDC issued goon suits. Back on the bus as the kids are shrieking and she has no money for the extra diapers necessary to contain the green lagoon evacuated after the shots, our adventurous, now new nuclear family of the 21st Century, is fucked. Period. No idea when to report back because one of the documents were blown away as the bus door sucked it out of her hand. Was it Jonnie or Janie whom got the X-14BLG-09887-E — or did she? Whom gets what next time and when the fuck is next time?!

Now, you have an entire panoply of other shit swirling below the feet of the authoritarian jack booted thugs swooning up at 1600 Penn Ave. One of the bigger problems we are faced with is food. Even in a good economy, tens of millions of families are dependent upon food banks to barely get by. Now, with pricing through the roof, scarcity in generic brands themselves, and supply chains collapsing each and every day, there is a good chance medical terms like scurvy and the lot will make a come back. And always the great marketeers, I predict that the hedge funds whom brought us this crisis to begin with will most assuredly organize carnival tours like something out of the late 1800s London or New York. Step right up and see for yourself how fortunate you are — Powered by Tesla, no doubt.

And if you honestly believe that things like terrorism has retreated into the shadows because of COVID, just wait until they start unloading those tanks of nitrogen gas to keep the vaccines at -112 degrees with thousands all lined up around them.

When you start removing a good diet from a society they more easily succumb to disease. And with winter knocking on our door — looking at a foot of snow in the Denver area over the next 24 hours — that old friend influenza will come a calling. I always did wonder why we could never cure the common cold; could never quite get the vaccine right on it, and yet with COVID, Trump has our six. Yeah, right!

Taken a look at Iowa, lately? Yeah, 10 million acres of corn wiped out. Not much news on that, though. Didn’t fit with the anti black Fox or anti white CNN news feeds. 100 Million bushels of corn and soybeans, nearly half of all crops in Iowa, are for sure, gone. So, price hikes in fuel — ethanol mandated by some bat shit crazed President — feed for animals — cows and other livestock tend to eat silage — and Del Monte on the table are all fucked. How about the high fructose corn syrup which is in almost every food product in the US?! Yeah, didn’t know about Johnny’s sweet tooth that is in everything from ketchup to cough syrup to — wait for it — even tree hugging vegan shit. Better not get caught by Monsanto salvaging the corn, though. They own the copyright to its genetic engineering and that is no bullshit. By the way, if you do, they will sue you into the stone age — not that it matters as you are broke anyway.

Now, I know all of this sounds like Humpty Dumpty is going to get put back together again by all of Trump’s men, but he is not. In fact, Humpty is going to get fried up in the skillet and eaten by pitchfork toting mobs by early next year. It is going to be grim and it is going to be dire. And there are only so many gated community Rent-a-Cops whom protect those entryways.

Humanity, as we know it, is on hold. The amount of pissed off people in the streets makes the Vietnam protests look like a joke. And these people are armed to the teeth. 30 Million people are standing on the precipice of homelessness. Even Katrina was a blink in the eye compared to what we are witnessing today. And remember, in a Twittersphere of tin foil hat wearing crazies, it only takes one carelessly dropped match to send the sheeple stampeding. Take those $3 inspections which Secretary Ben Carson pushes out by and through National Association of Mortgage Field Services (NAMFS) members. Ah, there’s something you didn’t know about, ‘eh?! You didn’t know that even though moratoriums are in play, NAMFS members like Assero are ordering their armies of zombie inspectors to peer inside of your home. And Assero is ordering their zombies to state that you have abandoned it — the technical term is unoccupied. They are also creeping around hanging stickers and door hangers on your home, all contaminated with whatever it is they brought along with them from the previous house. And who knows what kind of witch’s brew is bubbling in their festering pustules they call lungs, coughing all the while adjusting the half smoked cigarette in their hand, snapping photos with gyrations imitating a pterodactyl in flight.

As opposed to the 2008 Crisis when most people were still working, today you have 30 Million+ people sitting at home as the zombie inspectors come a calling. Their nerves are frayed and no one from the bank notified them of the twilight marauders. I mean what would you do if you saw someone peering into your bedroom with a camera as your wife changed your infant son’s diaper? Is it an Antifa protester? Was he offended because you bought a Starbuck’s coffee? Is is the white nationalists whom saw your bumper sticker at the protests last night? I mean whom do you call? The police? Want to risk getting shot in the back?

The perfect storm is literally — no pun intended — biting us in the ass. The biggest hurricane season on record is upon us. Hurricane Laura has pummeled Louisiana and Texas with power restoration weeks if not months away due to the entire grid being destroyed. Just like Chicago’s O’Hare, two more hurricanes are taking aim at the US. The only way to truly picture America today is to thumb through some older Ralph Steadman paintings he did during the Hunter S Thompson years. Fear and Loathing sums it up about right. Fires and world breaking heat readings in the West, snowstorms in Denver, and a belief that we have a pal named QAnon whom will save the day would concern even Dr Thompson.

Proud To Be Weird used to have meaning: HIV as a government conspiracy, God and His Cloud People saving the US, and a panache for bombing brown countries out of existence for, well being brown, those were all things that lifted the eye. Today, though, the sheer type of insanity flowing out of the White House — emanating from a man whom has his finger on the nuclear button — and the velocity at which it moves is #Epic even by quantum calculations.

No walking it back, either. Trump is a shit show and Biden the lesser of two evils is how this election cycle will go down. Everyone out there bitching about ballots and voting is the epitome of why the US has fallen on hard times. Civics 101 would have taught kids that the Electoral Commission elects the President, not the popular vote. No popular vote has EVER elected a US President. Be that as it may, knowing whom the newly elected President is before the New Year is Vegas odds. It ranks up there with the belief that if you work hard and pay your bills, the American Dream is still out there hitchhiking along US Route 66. Well, it isn’t. The American Dream was long ago brutally raped by hedge funds employing quants whom cook up some of the most complex and synthetic derivatives which even the regulators have no idea what they do. The American Dream is sitting out their bruised on a lonely two lane highway which ironically was built far better than the infrastructure of today’s interstate system. Even that last sane liberal HBO host of Real Time, Bill Maher, got it right. Maher told House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that it was all bullshit and when the pitchforks come, it was all going to burn down. Here is how he put it when discussing trillions for hedge funds and hundreds for the common man,

“Well, it will recover unless people get wise to the fact that we’re just writing checks with money that doesn’t exist,” Maher retorted. “I mean, what is the point of bailing out banks that are just going to loan back the money that doesn’t exist to us again? It seems like it’s a house of cards that could, in the end, wind up hurting more people than the disease.”

I like Maher and I certainly am no liberal. Whether it’s the weed or simply common sense, he hit the nail on the head. I think I need to have a drink with him someday. Along with Maher, I have mad respect for Matt Taibbi. Taibbi made his bones covering the 2008 Crisis for Rolling Stone with respect to the financial criminality exhibited by the entirety of the US Government and financial institutions. Taibbi has a great piece I read which starts out “On Thursday, August 27th, the same day Donald Trump formally accepted the Republican nomination, National Public Radio aired an interview with Vicky Osterweil, author of a book called In Defense of Looting.” Osterweil argues in her — and I am loathe to use this term — book that rioting and looting are the only thing in which whiteness and the police will be subdued. And as Taibbi points out her book is quintessential representation of bullshit. Osterweil, a white transgender child of a college professor, submits that only her property rights should be protected,

Rights. Yeah, there is a fucking ubiquitous term made up by a bunch of booze schwilling assholes looking down on people while picking their teeth with the bones of Labor. Rights. What good is a right if you cannot defend it? Moreover, though, whom determines what rights are for whom?

And for all the pundits out there whom are saying that we might have a civil war, have you walked down a city street lately?! I mean Portland is looking like Syria and Chicago is now being called Little Mogadishu. You have shield walls like a phalanx being orchestrated to ward off law enforcement and both whites and blacks squaring off with assault weapons. And here is precisely why I say we are already involved in a civil war: You don’t see the hispanics, asians, or native americans — all lower case along with white and black as I believe we are Americans — out in the mix. They appear to be the wisest in allowing the whites and the blacks to war amongst themselves.

Nothing to see here, just keep moving along. Grab a mask, buy the ticket, eat the pill, and take the ride is how Fear and Loathing would be described today. Finally, though,

Near Earth Asteroids, or NEAs, pass by our home planet all the time. But an SUV-size asteroid set the record this past weekend for coming closer to Earth than any other known NEA: It passed 1,830 miles (2,950 kilometers) above the southern Indian Ocean on Sunday, Aug. 16 at 12:08 a.m. EDT (Saturday, Aug. 15 at 9:08 p.m. PDT). Over the past several months, though, either the reporting has become more prevalent or the frequency has increased. It is almost like some Deep Space ne’er-do-well is honing his sling shot skills. I mean it’s not like homosapians have anything else to deal with right now.

I find comfort and solace with my Fellow Man whom is finally walking on that journey of self discovery. The tea leaves are ominous — as I found out after revelry over the Labor Day weekend. The Winds of Change have caught that upper jet stream and are meandering across this Third Rock From The Sun. Keep your Bolt Bags ready — mine is on the couch as I type. Keep the Scotch in copious amounts and certainly close by. And finally, remember, the Revolution Will Not Be Televised.

Before You Go ...

Foreclosurepedia exists because readers, workers, and advocates understand that protecting Labor in the mortgage field services industry requires independence, persistence, and resources. We do not answer to servicers, hedge funds, or corporate trade groups; our accountability is to the Field Service Technicians, Inspectors and administrative personnel whose livelihoods are too often treated as expendable. Donations are what allow us to investigate quietly buried contract changes, expose abusive labor practices, and publish work that would otherwise never see the light of day. Every contribution helps keep our reporting free from industry pressure and focused squarely on defending labor standards, fair pay, and basic dignity in the foreclosure ecosystem. If you believe this work matters, your support is not symbolic—it is the reason Foreclosurepedia can continue to stand between Labor and a system that routinely exploits it.
