Jim Taylor and the Wells Fargo Folly

OP ED By Paul Williams: If you Google Wells Fargo Mortgage Litigation you will find an endless stream of lawsuits. So bad is Wells Fargo considered in the Mortgage Industry, that a Judge recently found their actions “highly reprehensible” and fined Wells Fargo $3.1 MILLION! Jim Taylor; good ‘ol Jim. Word on the bricks is that Jim and the Boys put their sales pitch together to hustle out Aspen Grove Solutions to land the Contractor Background Check Contracts. Wasn’t really much of a Conference from what we could tell as questions about pricing, credit damage from pings, etc. never even made it to the table. Order Mill employee background checks?! Yeah, you gotta be shitting me — that will never happen!

Hello Paul,

Yes, Aspen Grove is working with NAMFS to create an industry solution to the growing challenge of background checks. The formal announcement will be made at NAMFS’ September Conference in Chicago. Pricing details are planned to be announced then. Wells Fargo will be one of the first lenders benefiting from this solution. As you may already know, Jim Taylor from Wells Fargo, representatives from First Advantage, and Aspen Grove Inc. all participated in a NAMFS Leadership Conference in Dallas on July 31st. You may wish to consider attending the NAMFS Chicago Conference to learn more.

That was real kind of Aspen Grove to offer to let me donate the hundreds upon hundreds of dollars to the National Association of Mortgage Field Services’ (NAMFS) War Chest to listen to the rhetoric Jim and Wells Fargo were going to spew about how everyone ought to finance the original sales pitch he put on last week. Yeah, I’m on board with that.

I get real nervous when Foreign Nationals want access to information on US Citizens. I become even MORE nervous when the Foreign Nationals are in Nations which were hosting terrorists for decades. Now, is Aspen Grove involved with terrorists? I doubt it. What I am worried about is that when you have infrastructure in close proximity to terrorists (and make no mistake Sinn Féin is still alive and well) I personally do not want my or my Company’s information within their reach. You may or may not remember Northern Ireland. I do. Yeah, good ‘ol Ireland. Pretty green eyes and red hair. Don’t let that fool you, though,

Martin McGuinness, leader of the IRA (Irish Republican Army), which planted bombs and killed more than 2,000 British innocent citizens, ran to be president of Ireland recently. Now, Jim Taylor and Wells Fargo may be comfortable with doing business; with sending MY F*CKING personal information to the Irish, but I am not … yet.

Denia Graham was recently appointed to the Aspen Ventures (yeah, guess you didn’t notice that this is a conglomeration of firms) family. Many will remember Graham for her knee deep relationships throughout the Property Preservation Industry and some may remember her how shall we say sticky parting of company with significant others. What I found most interesting was the timing. April of this year. Coincidence? Hmnn, I never found a coincidence in the Intelligence World, but that is an opinion which kept people alive when I ran the Desk.

Graham has held a number of prominent positions in the REO industry. Prior to joining Aspen Grove Solutions she was the COO of TenantAccess, ramping up the U.S.’s first national tenant occupied REO-to-rental solution. She was tasked with driving operational strategy and growth across national marketing, sales and operations, delivering outstanding performance for many tier-1 servicers, banks, a GSE and investors, handling over 17,000 rental assets, in a rapid growth environment.

Before that she was SVP of client operations for Field Asset Services (FAS), primarily responsible for the management of large client relationships and oversight of more than 25,000 REO assets.

I sent an initial letter to Aspen Grove which was responded to with an Offer to Attend the NAMFS Convention. I may do that … Anonymously. Maybe post a photo or two from the Convention Live so that Contractors can get a view inside the Lion’s Den and see if the Lion can track me. Hell, it would be just like old times. We could get all Foggy Bottom about it.

I sent a follow up Letter which I believe will be ignored. Then again, maybe not. Altisource responded.

Ultimately, I am extremely concerned about anything Wells Fargo attempts to ram down folk’s throats. The Judicial System concurs as mentioned earlier. I have several calls into the Senate Banking Commission (actually spoke with a Staffer even though it is in Recess) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the US Department of Labor (DoL) — make no mistake whatsoever when Tom was sworn in as the new Secretary of Labor he made Independent Contractor Status one of his big issues — two of my former Intelligence colleagues and finally my old University Professor from back in my law school days.

Now, Aspen Grove may be the best thing since sliced bread. Hell, maybe it is possible that much like Abraham tried to find an honest person in Sodom, there are no honest or capable background check firms in the United States. Maybe the Billions and Billions of US Tax Payer Dollars being funneled in and out of US Banks such as Wells Fargo really need oversight by Ireland?!

Maybe Jim Taylor, in his infinite wisdom; maybe in Taylor’s almost pathetic Cheerleading Advertising Pitch for Aspen Grove, really knows better than say local, county, state and federal law enforcement whom perform background checks every f*cking day?!

That’s probably it. G-d bless Jim and Wells Fargo for understanding that a MULTI TRILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY is so f*cked up that we need to have Foreign Nationals come to our rescue! Yeah, that’s the ticket. “Hey, Jim! While you’re at it can you pass the K-Y?!” Give me a break. I have several firms whom currently have felons employed servicing Wells Fargo Properties. I have people in some of the Firms with Tax Liens and Credit Judgements. Where is Jim on this?! Where is Wells Fargo on this? You got it; they are out at another Convention pushing bullshit like this!

I have a direct message to Jim Taylor and Wells Fargo: Take your bullshit and sell it elsewhere! In a time of economic free fall; in a time when US Citizens are still loosing their homes, Jim Taylor and Wells Fargo want to CONTINUE sticking it to the American People! Is it your position that not a single Firm in the United States was worthy of this Contract?! Does Made In America mean a f*cking thing? Foreign Nationals?! Are you shitting me?! This type of anti-American display should do wonders for Wells Fargo Account Holders. This is going to look ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL during the 2014 Election Cycle! The pertinent question will become why did myself and others Serve our Nation to come home and have work outsourced to Foreign Nationals?! Man, Jane Fonda Days here we come!

Maybe Aspen Grove will reach back to us. Maybe they are going to explain how the days of the Irish Republican Army (IRA) were really figments of the British Mind. Maybe Aspen Grove is going to explain how they are going to domestically keep tens of thousands of files on Contractors safely stashed here in the United States. Who knows?! Perhaps they will answer a few BASIC Questions from Contractors and tell us why they are far more effective than the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in conducting Background Checks. Yeah, that’s it. They are going to explain why Contractors need to have their Credit pinged half a dozen times so that they end up loosing 100 Points on their Credit Score and f*cking pay Foreign Nationals to do it!

So, if Jim or his buddies at Wells Fargo; if Denia or Aspen Grove want to have that Come to Jesus moment when we all get starry eyed and hold hands while heading to the confessional, feel free to reach out. I give you my word on this: Whether I like you or not is immaterial. I have a responsibility to the Contractors to report on the Truth. I will publish an unvarnished interview with anyone whom elects to get into the Hot Seat.
