Ironclad Preservation Kicks Off NAMFS Conference

Team Ironclad, the Presidential Sponsor of the National Association of Mortgage Field Services (NAMFS) Conference in Orlando this week, kicked off things with one hell of a production! The reality is that Team Ironclad put together a working presentation and did such by hand! Word has it that even Cyprexx’s rumored to be Tens of Thousands of Dollars Display, came in second place to Team Ironclad. Yeah, the Contractors are definitely going to see an uptick in Cyprexx Back Billing after the hangover of the NAMFS Regime Fraud Fest 2014 kicks in! Sadly, though, Team Ironclad appears to be the only good thing to report upon.

With that said and even though I am loathe to ever say anything good about anyone on the NAMFS Regime Board, Adam Miles apparently turned some heads in that he was the only White Collar at the NAMFS Conference whom would or could change a lock. I’ll give props for that; that kind of street cred is a good thing in my world. The simple fact that Miles would change a lock and do it in public sits well with me and is deserving of recognition.

What didn’t set well with me was the fact that the NAMFS Regime Board elected a new Member to the NAMFS Regime Board whom was not qualified. While I like Joe Hummel, Keystone Property Services co owner, the reality is that the NAMFS Regime By Laws are quite specific and clear in that Board Members must have One Year of Committee Service.

3. [P]rior service on an Association committee as either a member or Chair for at least one (1) year.

I mean for a guy purporting to want to see legitimate change, how is it precisely that Hummel is comfortable with this type of cloud hanging not only over his election, but the questions it might raise with respect to whether or not Keystone Property Services will be equally comfortable with breaking rules under their own roof? In a time when the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is focusing scrutiny heavily upon dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s, it strikes me as a pretty unwise decision to serve one’s ego with such media attention. Make no mistake Foreclosurepedia is going to stay on top of this.

This is an ongoing problem that faces the NAMFS Regime — legitimacy. So, when the NAMFS Regime has a problem, they either bury it or someone throws enough money at it to make it go away. Heather Berghorst, the now disgraced and former NAMFS Regime Secretary whom is currently being sued for fraud in Federal Court in addition to the filing of her SECOND Bankruptcy, is a sterling example. It is ever so hard for me to find any silver lining when time and again the NAMFS Regime seems not even capable of following their own By Laws. More on point, though, the question presents whether or not Eric Miller, the Commandant of the NAMFS Regime, will address the Jay Goscinski issue.

Jay Goscinski, Michigan Realty Solutions, was another example virtually identical to the election of Joe Hummel. Goscinski, yet another Vendor for Altisource, also has a bankruptcy in his past. To add fuel to the fire, Goscinski’s Regional Order Mill has been implicated in the impropriety of Mold Reports. Now, Miller allowed Goscinski to join the NAMFS Regime based, in part, upon a Letter allegedly drafted by Altisource. Altisource denies that this Letter ever came from them. Turning a blind eye, Goscinski was welcomed with open arms into the NAMFS Regime. Miller was quoted as stating that if there were any more issues, Goscinski would be removed. Well, now we have yet more Contractors stating they have not been paid and the Mold Reports which look just about as close to forgeries as I have ever seen. Miller and Altisource’s position? Business as usual in their dead silence.

On the 20th of July, Foreclosurepedia submitted a formal request for the NAMFS Regime’s IRS Form 990 for FY2013. We additionally requested the NAMFS Regime’s Letter of Determination. Miller stated that FY2013 had not yet been completed. With respect to the Letter of Determination, Miller refused to address this. So, today Foreclosurepedia sent a Complaint to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) based upon Miller’s refusal to provide the Letter of Determination. While Miller, et al., may be able to snow the Convention, IRS is pretty specific in the levying of fines against Non Profit Corporations whom refuse to provide these materials.

The penalty for not disclosing an annual return is $20 per day for as long as the failure to comply continues, up to a maximum of $10,000 maximum fee per return not disclosed. There is no maximum fee for failure to provide the application for exemption.

So, in addition to the NAMFS Regime’s padding of the NAMFS Regime Fraud Fest 2014 with Straw Men to buffer up the empty slots — some of which remained empty to the day of the Fraud Fest itself — it would appear that Miller and the Boys will have to pass the hat to collect for the Fines they will inevitably owe when IRS comes a calling. Probably not a big issue considering the fact that if Hummel is allowed to have the By Laws waived to be seated on the NAMFS Regime Board, it would appear that the $920 dollars owed so far is less than the tip that will be left by NAMFS Regime Attendees heading to the strip club.

Before You Go ...

Foreclosurepedia exists because readers, workers, and advocates understand that protecting Labor in the mortgage field services industry requires independence, persistence, and resources. We do not answer to servicers, hedge funds, or corporate trade groups; our accountability is to the Field Service Technicians, Inspectors and administrative personnel whose livelihoods are too often treated as expendable. Donations are what allow us to investigate quietly buried contract changes, expose abusive labor practices, and publish work that would otherwise never see the light of day. Every contribution helps keep our reporting free from industry pressure and focused squarely on defending labor standards, fair pay, and basic dignity in the foreclosure ecosystem. If you believe this work matters, your support is not symbolic—it is the reason Foreclosurepedia can continue to stand between Labor and a system that routinely exploits it.
