BREAKING NEWS: If You Shopped At Home Depot Cancel Your Card NOW!

Foreclosurepedia broke a story the other day about the possibility of hackers breaching Home Depot Servers. It was confirmed earlier today and the advice is that if you have shopped at Home Depot in the past 6 months — that means a year — to cancel your Credit or Debit Card IMMEDIATELY! While I shop there, I use PayPal and thus the problem does not impact direct entry. It is a feature that folks might want to look at as you do not even need a Card to utilize. The irony is that a simple chip in the cards will do away with the problem. These chips are in use everywhere, but the United States. The banksters state it is cheaper to deal with the hacking than put the chip in the cards, although I have seen them in American Express.

Before You Go ...

Foreclosurepedia exists because readers, workers, and advocates understand that protecting Labor in the mortgage field services industry requires independence, persistence, and resources. We do not answer to servicers, hedge funds, or corporate trade groups; our accountability is to the Field Service Technicians, Inspectors and administrative personnel whose livelihoods are too often treated as expendable. Donations are what allow us to investigate quietly buried contract changes, expose abusive labor practices, and publish work that would otherwise never see the light of day. Every contribution helps keep our reporting free from industry pressure and focused squarely on defending labor standards, fair pay, and basic dignity in the foreclosure ecosystem. If you believe this work matters, your support is not symbolic—it is the reason Foreclosurepedia can continue to stand between Labor and a system that routinely exploits it.
