The Birdsey Group: Yet Another Altisource Vendor Rolling It Downhill

I tell you what, Altisource — #OpALTISORE — is driving drunk. As if their Order Mills stiffing Contractors across the United States was not enough; as if hiring Order Mills with documented bankruptcies was not dangerous enough, it would appear that Bill Shepro and his Ambulance Chasers are just trying to thumb their noses at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Here, hot off the press, let me show you what I mean,

All –

While we have moved to weekly payment on Fridays, every contractor will not necessarily get a payment every week if we have not received payments for them from our client.  Please remember that the payment will consist of the payments that we have received from our client.  As a result of paying weekly, payments may be less than when we were on a two week pay schedule.

Also, our client upgraded their payment system which affected payment to us.  This will affect the contract payments this week.  You will notice that payments are lower than normal.  Per our client, they should this issue fix itself within the next week and pay next Friday should be closer to normal.

Thanks,

Sylvia Brown

I love it. First, tell your people you are going to begin to roll into the 21st Century and maybe pay people in a legal fashion. Weekly, I wouldn’t have done, but more power to them. Then, you tell them that you are going to invoke a Pay When Paid Clause. Fine, if it is in the Contract. Question there Sylvia, how the fuck do Contractors know when you have been paid? Just take Sandford’s word for it, huh?! I really loved the second paragraph which was highlighted in yellow. There’s one for the Team as in #TEAMREGIME and shit.

All in a days work. I mean it just keeps coming and coming. Who cares what a Contract may or may not read. See, that’s the deal. You cannot just send out a Memo and alter or amend a Contract. I mean this is Russian Gulag mentality; no, strike that. This is the Mortgage Field Services Industry today being commandeered by Portfolio Holders whom are not regulated by the US Government.

Before You Go ...

Foreclosurepedia exists because readers, workers, and advocates understand that protecting Labor in the mortgage field services industry requires independence, persistence, and resources. We do not answer to servicers, hedge funds, or corporate trade groups; our accountability is to the Field Service Technicians, Inspectors and administrative personnel whose livelihoods are too often treated as expendable. Donations are what allow us to investigate quietly buried contract changes, expose abusive labor practices, and publish work that would otherwise never see the light of day. Every contribution helps keep our reporting free from industry pressure and focused squarely on defending labor standards, fair pay, and basic dignity in the foreclosure ecosystem. If you believe this work matters, your support is not symbolic—it is the reason Foreclosurepedia can continue to stand between Labor and a system that routinely exploits it.
