We are putting together a Google+ Hangout Series for the Industry to chronicle the day-to-day activities impacting Contractors and the proper way of performing them. Entitled the Google+ REO Hangout Series (Series), it will be a searchable archive and the information will be available for FREE! To date, Companies want HUNDREDS of dollars to even read about REO Material let alone sit down and Consult one-on-one! Currently, there is not a SINGLE media forum dedicated specifically to the REO/P&P Contractor.
After standing on the sidelines for quite some time now, Foreclosurepedia reached out to leading Industry professionals and began to set up the technological infrastructure necessary to create the Foreclosurepedia Virtual Training Academy (FVTA). The beauty of the FVTA is that there is no Certificates; the peer participation which FVTA brings forward will be much like the Fireside Chats made famous by Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) during the last century.
From Webopedia: Google+ Hangouts is a free video chat service from Google that enables both one-on-one chats and group chats with up to ten people at a time. While somewhat similar to Skype, FaceTime and Facebook Video Chat, Google Hangouts focuses more on “face-to-face-to-face” group interaction as opposed to one-on-one video chats, and utilizes sophisticated technology to seamlessly switch the focus to the person currently chatting.
Google Hangouts can be accessed via laptop and desktop computers as well as with Android mobile devices (Android “Gingerbread” v2.3 and later) and, in the near future, iOS-powered mobile devices. In addition to video chatting, Google Hangouts users can share documents, scratchpads, images andYouTube videos with other users. Google+ Hangouts also offers a “Hangouts on Air” feature for broadcasting live video conversations that are accessible to anyone with a web browser.
Did we mention that it is FREE?! It also allows us to stream live to the WORLD via YouTube by and through the Foreclosurepedia YouTube Channel! We have additionally created a Forum COMPLETELY DEDICATED to the Google+ REO Hangout Series!
Format. Just like all successful media events, Foreclosurepedia will moderate a Town Hall type of discussion with predetermined Topics. While the Topics are set out, the discussions will not be restricted in Scope. We want there to be a natural, smooth flow so that people have the sense that they are actually present with the Panel. In some cases the viewers will actually be allowed to submit questions in a live setting!
Two Associations exist within the Property Preservation Industry. The National Association of Mortgage Field Services (NAMFS) and the National Property Preservation Guild (NPPG). The former, the NAMFS, is comprised of larger Client (Order Mill) based Members and the latter, the NPPG, is formed primarily by boots on the ground Contractors with a few exceptions. The obvious problem with either Association is that one first needs to be a member to participate. The NAMFS will run a person around $300 +/- per year and the NPPG has yet to adopt a fee; however, it is anticipated in the future at a much more modest sum.
By-in-large, to participate in anything pertaining to Industry Specific dialogue, Members of NAMFS must shell out thousands of dollars to attend Conventions and then the Attendees are merely spectators. The NPPG has a weekly conference call for the Board of Directors; however, it is unknown what is discussed. To NPPG’s credit, they do proffer a Newsletter which covers their major announcements and decisions. In both cases, though, it is one way dialogue.
The Series will be produced with the common, boots on the ground Contractor in mind. As Foreclosurepedia is an impartial media outlet we will have wide latitude in the format and layout. Initially the Series will concentrate upon the Industry specific skill sets necessary to successfully complete the wide array of Work Orders issued such winterizations, lock changes, lawn maintenance, et cetera. We will also compliment these Round Table discussions with others such as accounting, information security, Service Contract Act (SCA) compliance as well as Industry dialogue to help move the Contractor into a better position to enter into the federal contracting arena.
Foreclosurepedia has spent the past several months speaking with professionals, both within and without the Industry, to line up a Who’s Who Talent List to ensure that the Series is both educational and entertaining. These folks range from Real Estate Brokers and National Clients to Contractors and Corporate Consultants. The goal is that Viewers of the Series will walk away anticipating the next episode!
If you would be interested in helping, please reach out to the Series today! Even if you do not work in the Industry; if you are into A/V, Coding, Social Media or a writer, please volunteer and let’s share what we have learned with others. As many of the Contractors whom are currently in the Industry are looking to bifurcate their business, the Series is scouting for professionals from all walks of life! College students are encouraged to apply for several Internships we have available. We have spoken with faculty at University of Tennessee (UT) and are hopeful that production time spent on the Series will translate into Credits. We see no reason why this would not be considered by any other accredited institution of higher learning Nationwide!
