One of the most dangerous things in the 21st Century is the silencing of an opinion because it is not on par with another’s beliefs. For nearly two centuries men and women have died defending this Right amongst others. The First Amendment is a mantle which is cast both far and wide. In essence, the First Amendment is that which separates the United States from the dictatorial regimes populating the face of the Earth. The ability to make statements of opinion; the ability to formulate thought, is part and parcel why the United States has its first African American President.
US Supreme Court Associate Justice (SCAJ) Thurgood Marshall was the first appointed African American Justice whom championed both civil rights issues and those of prisoners. When juxtaposed with SCAJ Hugo Black whom was a member of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), one might question the integrity of the Court itself. Therein lies the paradox. Black was a member of the Democrat Party which would be antithetical today.
No one placed SCAJ Black into prison for his belief structure; no one attacked Marshall for his rulings. Today, though, we are in a real time, microwave mentality. There is this belief that pandering is far more effective than allowing for the merits of one cause or the other to stand on their own two feet. The polarization of our culture is coming at a great price.
The nationality of the 9 – 11 hijackers is beyond question as is that of their religion. Common sense would be to, at minimum, discuss this fact openly and candidly. We do not. As a matter of fact, we have done so at our peril. To even mention anything anything anti Arab or anti Muslim is grounds for potential prison sentences.
The fact that the vast majority of illegal aliens come from South of our Border is a statement of fact. To inquire about the true costs of illegal immigration to the tax payers is astronomical. The 5 decade price tag for amnesty will surpass $6 TRILLION! To mention this is tantamount to racism. Even mentioning the word illegal alien and make no mistake that they have violated a half dozen federal laws being here may end political careers.
The highest of all ironies is the spin upon racial epithets. Rap music abounds with them. Locker rooms spew them. They are part and parcel that which occurs daily in the privacy and comfort of our own homes. Yet, at the end of the day, the vernacular is only attacked when it furthers the interests of one’s cultural agenda.
How much more so are the problems in the Property Preservation Industry (PPI). Any statement rendered which is contrary to the Property Preservation Industry’s Statement of Normalcy is fought to the death. Whether it be the attacks against myself by the National Association of Mortgage Field Services (NAMFS) or the denial of work to Contractors, the PPI ensures that dialogue is punished if it does not tow the party line. This same mentality; this chilling effect upon Contractor’s First Amendment Rights, is precisely why the United States Congress needs to become involved in the PPI.
A message needs to be sent that African American women in Wisconsin, holding Contracts with United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Prime Vendors like Sentinel Field Services (SFS), should NEVER be denied work for whistle blowing to HUD!!!!! So bad was the situation that this lady wasn’t even going to be PAID for services rendered until we advocated on her behalf! To date, neither HUD nor SFS have addressed the emails sent to her from SFS stating, in effect, she was being let go as a Contractor due to her discussions with HUD! This kind of power is dangerous. It strikes at the very foundations of democracy. It is a testament to the fact that regulations need to be brought to bear upon the Prime Vendors whom hold HUD Contracts.
The world will look back upon these days as the Dark Ages of the Property Preservation Industry. History will reflect the fact that Contractors are being persecuted for their practicing of free speech. The legacies being purchased with the funds doled out by the non profit foundations established by those in the PPI will be seen for precisely what they really are.
