The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is under investigation for legal and ethical issues as being reported by HousingWire. Nothing new under the sun in the Mortgage Field Services Industry these days. I suppose that HUD was feeling left out with respect to the massive problems Foreclosurepedia has documented with respect to the very Industry which HUD supplies Contracts for.
The Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee will hold a hearing titled “Exploring Alleged Ethical and Legal Violations at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.”
The witnesses will be David Montoya, Inspector General of HUD, and Edda Emmanuelli Perez, Managing Associate General Counsel for Appropriations Law, Budget Issues and Financial Management and Assurance Teams in the Office of General Counsel at the Government Accountability Office.
The reality is that the hearings will produce a lot of Dog and Pony Show opportunities and little or nothing will come of it. Sad, truly sad, as it seems the squandering of taxpayer monies within the Beltway is the norm as opposed to the exception. We will stay on top of this, at any rate, and report what if anything happens.
