Puerto Rico: How CWIS Ensures Continued Insolvency

Singapore of the Caribbean is how many refer to Puerto Rico. It would be on par that Carolyn Ramagos, Vice President of Countrywide Inspection Services (CWIS), is involved in the history of Puerto Rico’s destruction. Recently, Ramagos inferred to a Member of Labor that US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) personnel were beholden to her; that Ramagos could circumvent the law as the language appears,

Even if you plan to call HUD again, we have handled that situation the first time you did and we can handle it again. — Carolyn Ramagos to potential federal witness in Florida.

The word came like a thunderbolt from the heavens, as Carolyn Ramagos likes to think of her statements. Her Voice, uttered out to her minions of na’er do wells, rang loud and clear just like the day she and Dave onboarded Mickey Dale Snow and Snow Enterprises. Seek and destroy all whom stand in our way of victory. Well, something like that. At the end of the day, HUDs 3.10 Industry Days will be, I hope, a break from the norm. Craig Karnes, a man whom has been under fire for months now, may actually be realizing that change may be a good thing.

The reality is this: Enforcement of Rules; the implementation of justice, has many worried — like Carolyn I believe. The fear is that it is difficult to attract the National Association of Mortgage Field Service’s (NAMFS) next generation of #Fraudsters. In fact, a concern is that many of these potential NAMFS Board of Directors may choose entirely different careers in terrorism, corpse raping, or Catholic Priesthood.

With approximately $70 billion in debt and a 45% poverty rate, Puerto Rico is suffering from Whitey Syndrome. Whitey Syndrome is where the United States refuses to acknowledge statehood nor allow independent sovereignty for Puerto Rico. More on point, though, in 1984 Congress ensured that Puerto Rico could never declare bankruptcy. Oh, yes. In an attempt to chip away at that deficit, the Puerto Rican government has increased sales taxes and closed schools, convincing nearly eighty thousand Puerto Ricans to head to the mainland of the United States. On the bright side, at least these refugees won’t be packing in bombs like the Syrian Refugees.

And while the power is being shut off in Puerto Rican hospitals as I type, hedge fund managers and Carolyn Ramagos alike rake in millions. You see, the hedge fund managers whom sold Puerto Ricans and their government blue skying models will be paid and Carolyn Ramagos, just like a mortician, collects obscene amounts for every family’s home entered into her inventory.

The Mortgage Field Services Industry’s skunk works are already rolling out workarounds; the petty multi million dollar defraudment of Labor is now encompassing some blue skying like the no pay training of contractors which CWIS required in Florida just a few days ago. The Industry fuckery has finally begun to find a new home — Education.

So, where can you find Carolyn Ramagos, the I went from 3 Employees to a FIFTY MILLION DOLLAR HUD Contract Vice President at? Somewhere around the corner of Puerto Rico and Greece. And as for little Johnny who was left unattended in the public restroom? Well, no worries, the Industry has a job for him, too! 😉

Before You Go ...

Foreclosurepedia exists because readers, workers, and advocates understand that protecting Labor in the mortgage field services industry requires independence, persistence, and resources. We do not answer to servicers, hedge funds, or corporate trade groups; our accountability is to the Field Service Technicians, Inspectors and administrative personnel whose livelihoods are too often treated as expendable. Donations are what allow us to investigate quietly buried contract changes, expose abusive labor practices, and publish work that would otherwise never see the light of day. Every contribution helps keep our reporting free from industry pressure and focused squarely on defending labor standards, fair pay, and basic dignity in the foreclosure ecosystem. If you believe this work matters, your support is not symbolic—it is the reason Foreclosurepedia can continue to stand between Labor and a system that routinely exploits it.
