Eric Miller, National Association of Mortgage Field Services (NAMFS) Executive Director, reached out yesterday to Foreclosurepedia and notified us that the NAMFS IRS Form 990 will be provided as it has been, each year in the past, via certified mail upon completion. While laudable, the reality is that without the formal request, the presumption of delivery would be ill founded. Fact of the matter, though, is Miller and NAMFS are far easier to work with, with respect to the IRS Form 990, than when the process first began. And that openness; that first step on a long path to transparency, deserves credit.
NAMFS IRS Form 990 is currently in process. As we have in each year, we will make this available to you upon completion via certified mail. If you can kindly confirm your address it would be greatly appreciated. — Eric Miller, NAMFS Executive Director
Foreclosurepedia had offered to allow such delivery electronically as we are environmentally conscious; however, for reasons understandable, NAMFS has chosen to deliver such in paper format.
I want to take a moment here, though, and expound briefly upon this. Publicly, Miller and I may appear to be at each other’s throats; we exchange anecdotal barbs. Therein lies the rub, as the Bard would say. You see, there’s no difference in spin emanating from Miller’s position within NAMFS and my position as Editor-in-Chief of Foreclosurepedia when politically juxtaposed. Foreclosurepedia simply commands a far larger swath of the Internet.
The reality is that years ago, when I co-hosted the inaugural Florida FAST Conference with Brett Douglas, I was
highly impressed by Miller’s ability to craft on the fly. Miller, in response to a request from the audience, was able to identify and articulate a comprehensive presentation with respect to the NAMFS educational program. This was done spur of the moment and to this day I remain impressed. In all due candor, I have absolutely ZERO oratory skills; I am not what one might call candidate material. And I worry, though, that without a melange of oration and script writing; without a transparent and unified front, Labor and Management will be left with the scraps which Ohio sees fit to throw upon the floor of the Industry.
The above is one of the stories that never makes the history books; however, that does not make it any less important. I am hopeful that in 2016 my Colleague will choose to reach across the aisle as Labor and Management now, more than ever, must identify a commonality. The disrepair of the once Great Bridge of Dialogue formerly used to cross the Divide between White Collar and Blue Collar must be restored to its original state. Through Partnership, that Bridge may, once again, return to its previous splendor. A splendor, which I point out, that has not been seen since the days John Ward’s Leadership assisted in navigating the tumultuous times we are witnessing today.
Each year Foreclosurepedia extends an Olive Branch to assist NAMFS in unloading their burden upon the proverbial goat. For you see, from within the Wilderness does Foreclosurepedia stand, as a Beacon of Light to Guide, to guide the Wayfarer and grant Rest for the Weary. Without peace there shall be no peace; we now have quid quo pro within the Mortgage Field Services Industry. Our Kindness should never be mistaken as weakness; the reality is, though, that the time presents itself with the opportunity to beat the Swords of Corruption into Plowshares of Prosperity. Only top level NAMFS Members have anything to fear from this. Once again, Foreclosurepedia steps to the plate and we shall see what, if anything, NAMFS chooses to do going forward.
