NAMFS Members Unable To Amass $366 For Pay Raises

The Mortgage Field Services Industry, under the watchful eye of the National Association of Mortgage Field Services (NAMFS), has become a total and complete shitshow. With two big issues at play — NAMFS out of touch with wages to Labor and COVID vaccination to protect the most vulnerable in our society — it has become apparent that Eric Miller, NAMFS Executive Director, is out of his league when it comes to Leadership. In addressing the former first, NAMFS has had a campaign underway for over a month now panhandling $120,000 apparently in order to pay lobbyists to increase Mortgagee Letter (ML) pricing. To date, they have been able to hustle up a meager $29,850 when you subtract the NAMFS initial $10,000 pumping of the pot — that number has remained stagnant over the past several weeks. When you add up the billions of dollars which NAMFS members receive — with one NAMFS member eclipsing nearly $100 Million in US government contracts alone on the US Department of Housing and Urban Development‘s (HUD) Management and Marketing (M&M) Field Service Manager (FSM) contracts — two words are clear: Tragically Epic. What I mean is that with roughly 300 NAMFS members, it would cost roughly $366 each to achieve their goal. Even more telling, though, is the fact that Miller has a caveat in the Donation Link which reads,

Thank you in advance for your contribution.  Your donation will be utilized to offset the costs.  Any surplus will be set aside for reinvestment in future NAMFS initiatives.

Future initiatives? Never knew any had ever happened other than the continued pay raises for Miller. I digress. In addressing the latter, COVID is the five letter acronym which has NAMFS member’s assholes puckered up so tight you cannot get a stick pin through them. What I mean is this: Foreclosurepedia spoke with multiple NAMFS members whom all stated that they feared losing what little Labor they had if COVID vaccinations were required. Moreover, though, all stated that even requiring the wearing of masks would tank their ability to perform in the Industry. Obeying the law has always been one of those pesky things that NAMFS members loathe. And COVID vaccination, combined with the wearing of masks, is the Law under Executive Order 14042.

HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge has been AWOL when it comes to implementing EO 14042 which requires all Federal Contract Awardees, their contractors, subcontractors, and remote workers to vaccinate. A simple Mortgagee Letter could clarify the position on pre conveyance assets; however, the Secretary seems to be more concerned with the redecorating of her office than the protection of homeowners when it comes to COVID. Whether this is a direct slight to the Biden Administration for refusing to appoint her as Secretary of Agriculture or simply the inability to understand that tens of thousands of unvaccinated, unmasked people roaming around knocking on doors and evicting homeowners is not the best idea during a global pandemic has yet to be determined.

Secretary Fudge’s response to EO 14042 is markedly different from the US Army Secretary’s response to rebellious Oklahoma National Guardsmen as reported by The Hill,

U.S. Army Secretary Christine Wormuth this week warned members of the National Guard that they may be barred from “continued service” if they refuse to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

“I have determined that all soldiers who refuse the mandatory vaccination order will be flagged,” Wormuth wrote in a memo, according to The New York Times. This action would prevent soldiers from receiving promotions, awards and bonuses.

If members persist in declining vaccination without an approved exemption, she added, they will not be allowed to “continue service.”

With the Great Resignation underway wherein during August and September over 8.7 million workers quit their jobs and a record 11.1 million jobs available, the reality is that Labor has stepped through the looking glass and NAMFS was left on the other side. Unless and until NAMFS members become compliant, they will remain a symbol of a much greater problem which can no longer be swept under the rug.
