HomeStar: Seven Million Dollars In The Hole And Counting

The National Association of Mortgage Field Services (NAMFS) Regime have outdone themselves this time! HomeStar Property Solutions has a serious problem. When I say serious, I mean terminal like inoperable Brainstem Ganglioglioma. Oh, don’t act all surprised. I reported upon this when I broke the story on the National Field Network screwing multiple fellow NAMFS Regime Members like Buczek Enterprises. This, though, is just the tip of the iceberg. Most of you out there have NO IDEA precisely how dire it is now. Those Contractors whom are Members of the ISTAR System are predominately immune to the trials and tribulations the rest of the Herd experience. Why? We keep them up-to-date with the criminals and predators out there; we provide continual Consulting and our Clients profit immensely from that!

Subject: RE: Payment Inquiry

Dear Vendor:

We are continuing to make progress in our efforts to collect $6,800,000 of receivables and have started to receive

partial payments. These payments are in turn used to pay you, our vendors. We cannot pay everyone at once and ask for your continued patience.

Your understanding in this matter is greatly appreciated. We apologize for the inconvenience.

This is one of the deals I have never quite understood with the NAMFS Regime. First, their modus operadi is to lure unsuspecting Contractors — really laborers — into a legally binding Contract. From jump, though, it is moot as the vast majority of the Contractors are afraid to enforce the Contract thus showing that they are really just Craigslist Crackheads. That Contract angles every possible advantage for the NAMFS Regime Member. Then, in typical predator fashion, the NAMFS Regime Member begins to dump order after order upon a Contractor whom falsely believes that the NAMFS Regime Member will pay them. Time and time again, just like a man whom beats his girlfriend and promises never to do it again, the NAMFS Regime Member begins their cyclic pattern of abuse.

The abuse cycle starts with reducing bids while still forwarding and collecting upon the original amount the Contractor submitted. Then, as the NAMFS Regime Predator becomes more embolden, they start a process called a Charge Backs. Similar to rape, the NAMFS Regime Predator gathers with other Predators at Conferences and celebrate. Much like child pornographers, the NAMFS Regime Predators exchange notes on how they got over on this or that Contractor. Finally, the NAMFS Regime Predator takes the ultimate risk by refusing to pay Contractors in accordance with legally binding Contracts.

Michael Breese, HomeStar Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Keegan Wallace, HomeStar’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) are no different than the long and distinguished list of C Level NAMFS Regime Predators whom we have profiled before.

Outside of investing, Mr. Breese has a background in environmental remediation and unsecured debt collections. Previously, Mr. Breese served as Vice President of Collection Operations for GMAC, where he oversaw 1,000+ staff in multiple regions for almost a decade.

What a joke! No wonder Breese is no longer at GMAC. Sad, really. When you look at the entirety of the “Executive Team” comprised of: Ben Brunsen and Brad Trapnell, both Senior Vice Presidents; Jen Fore another Vice President; Peter Blonigen Controller; and Brian Michaelis Director of Information Technology and Business Intelligence you begin to fully understand the fact that these clowns could give two shits whether or not anyone gets paid but themselves.

Take a long, hard look at the smirks that each of these predators wear. While they still collect their obscene pay and bonuses, these predators have the AUDACITY to tell Contractors to be patient! The POX on their homes!

Folks, I told you it was going to get bad. Here is the reality: If those of you whom are owed money do not begin to file Liens, you are going to get beat! Make no mistake that any Company — in this case I use the term Company loosely — whom allows itself to become almost SEVEN MILLION DOLLARS IN THE HOLE borders upon financial insolvency. If there were a run on Liens today, HomeStar would have to file bankruptcy.

Breese, et al., belong in prison. To ever continue working Contractors knowing full well that they were not being paid and were not able to pay Contractors is the text book definition of fraud. Yeah, I bet good ‘ol Dean Counce would LOVE to drop the soap in front of Michaelis. Makes a person get all warm and fuzzy thinking about these predators getting what they deserve.

HomeStar is not the only firm owed staggering amounts, either. While I am loathe to continue to publish upon this House of Cards which has been set up almost identical to a classic Ponzi Scheme; I am loathe as the vast majority of these Craigslist Laborers deserve what they get for ever allowing this to happen, I will release the other seven firms in almost IDENTICAL circumstances.

Should any of you ever get some common sense, feel free to reach out for Consulting.

Before You Go ...

Foreclosurepedia exists because readers, workers, and advocates understand that protecting Labor in the mortgage field services industry requires independence, persistence, and resources. We do not answer to servicers, hedge funds, or corporate trade groups; our accountability is to the Field Service Technicians, Inspectors and administrative personnel whose livelihoods are too often treated as expendable. Donations are what allow us to investigate quietly buried contract changes, expose abusive labor practices, and publish work that would otherwise never see the light of day. Every contribution helps keep our reporting free from industry pressure and focused squarely on defending labor standards, fair pay, and basic dignity in the foreclosure ecosystem. If you believe this work matters, your support is not symbolic—it is the reason Foreclosurepedia can continue to stand between Labor and a system that routinely exploits it.
