Police Reports = Insurance Fraud

We are working on an enormous exposé dealing with National, Regional and Otherwise Unspecified Order Mills authorizing Contractors to file Police Reports and then Ordering them to commit Subornation of Perjury. The sinister aspect to this Investigation is that most Contractors have absolutely no idea that what they are doing is illegal. At the end of the day, the business as usual mentality has programmed most Office Staff into believing that what they do is completely legal!

Time and again Order Mills daily instruct Contractors to file Police Reports on behalf of Financial Institution properties. We have done two in 15 years and required that the Order Mill’s name be placed in the Report as opposed to ours. While many of the filings are innocuous, there is a growing trend to list Vandalism as the Cause of Damage.

We have been reviewing stacks of Police Reports from both law enforcement and Contractors. What we are finding is chilling. Roof Damage – Vandalism. Mold – Vandalism. You get the point.

Here is how the hustle works. An Order Mill has a Contractor file a Police Report to generate all the damages within a foreclosed property. They use the Contractor so that the appearance of a neutral third party is reflected upon the paperwork. The Police Report then generates the Claims Process with the Insurance Company. When the Insurance Company authorizes the Payment, the Order Mill whom is responsible for the Property is then responsible for the repairs. At no cost, they then take bids to repair the damages. Obviously, those bids are far lower than the Payment from the Insurance Company. The Order Mill then generates the Work Order and decides whether or not to pay the Contractor upon completion.

The implications here are STAGGERING! The biggest issue, though, is the boilerplate assignment of Vandalism to everything!

This is a very fast moving story. We are hoping to speak with Contractors whom work for Order Mills in the Michigan and Ohio areas. If you would not like to speak on the record please feel free to simply email your Police Reports and Work Orders to us and we will redact your information. Or simply send us the Police Report Number and we will obtain it. In the coming days, we will have a Hotline dedicated to only this issue.

Potentially, we are talking about Federal Wire Fraud, Federal Racketeering, Insurance Fraud and a plethora of other state and federal crimes not to mention the enormous civil penalties. Based upon the Work Orders and Police Reports we currently possess, it is not shaping up to be a very Merry Christmas for many Order Mils!

No one wants their hands in the Cookie Jar on this one. State Insurance Commissioners could give two shits whom an Order Mill thinks that they are. Additionally, the Financial Institutions are just about at the end of their patience dealing with the daily bullshit being reported upon by Foreclosurepedia.

Before You Go ...

Foreclosurepedia exists because readers, workers, and advocates understand that protecting Labor in the mortgage field services industry requires independence, persistence, and resources. We do not answer to servicers, hedge funds, or corporate trade groups; our accountability is to the Field Service Technicians, Inspectors and administrative personnel whose livelihoods are too often treated as expendable. Donations are what allow us to investigate quietly buried contract changes, expose abusive labor practices, and publish work that would otherwise never see the light of day. Every contribution helps keep our reporting free from industry pressure and focused squarely on defending labor standards, fair pay, and basic dignity in the foreclosure ecosystem. If you believe this work matters, your support is not symbolic—it is the reason Foreclosurepedia can continue to stand between Labor and a system that routinely exploits it.
