Vinson v. AMS is the federal wage-and-hour misclassification case brought by Bennett Vinson against Asset Management Specialists and Mortgage Contracting Services — two of the most prominent nationals in the mortgage field services ecosystem. Vinson, a former AMS contractor operating CD McIntosh Vinson Installations, first contacted Foreclosurepedia in 2013 after AMS refused to pay monies owed to his company. Foreclosurepedia worked directly with Vinson and fellow contractor Salim Wilson to document the abuse, and voluntarily turned over information to Vinson’s legal team as the case developed. What followed was a putative class action asserting that Vinson and similarly situated workers — representing approximately $160 million in potential liability — had been systematically misclassified as independent contractors rather than employees, stripped of overtime protections and expense reimbursements in the process. MCS ultimately paid millions to settle. This document package contains the core filings from one of the cases that Foreclosurepedia helped put into motion.
