Below is a personal Commentary that I am fortunate enough to receive in a weekly email from a very dear friend of mine. In the past I have published a bit here and there of his work. I keep his name anonymous out of respect to both he and the Community he works in.
Let me know if you folks like it. If so, I will hopefully be able to get his permission to begin a permanent by line for him to publish on. For the time being, we will simply refer to him as Uncle Sam.
In the past I have consistently been extremely critical of the Obama Administration’s Sr. White House staff.The President is who he is and is a known quantity. Suffice it to say that he is obviously way over his head.. and he has been ever since he took the oath of office (which he has demonstrably and purposely violated on many occasions.. as other Presidents have also done.. but not as egregiously in my opinion..).The success (or failure) of any Presidency is due, in large part, on the quality and competency of the advisers and senior staff with whom he chooses to surround himself. The President then needs to have the frame of reference, experience, and common sense to take that advice and act on it in the best interests of the nation as a whole.The current Syrian situation is demonstrating, to the nation, that these people have no fucking idea what they are doing.. and it is also apparent that they have no ability to realistically ascertain where they are going.. or realistically evaluate the consequences of their actions. I think that they have been advised of the probable/potential/possible consequences of their “limited strike” (in essence.. a declaration of war on Syria.. to send a “message” ?).. and have chosen to ignore said advice. This makes no sense.All they can see is 426 dead Syrian kids due to the use of chemical weapons by a murderous dictator.. and whatever they perceive their current domestic political situation to be… when this is a three and a half dimensional chess game played on a international game board… with very serious potential consequences. This administration’s foreign policy is like the TV commercial where the guy’s answers are always one question behind… due, in my opinion, to the amazing incompetence of his Sr. Staff.. who’s job it is to keep the President out of trouble.I keep having visions of Valerie Jarrett and Hillary having a huge pissing contest about what to do during the Benghazi attack.. while the President went to bed… to rest up for his campaign trip to Vegas. I must admit.. if I was him.. I’d probably want to stay out of Hillary’s way while she was trying to cover-up her massive, and lethal, Benghazi screw-up.. or.. a vision of having to go find the President on the golf-course so he could be present while the Osama raid was taking place.. because Miss Valerie had talked him into postponing it three other times and he was under the impression that the operation was still in the “let’s wait” mode. Leadership at it’s best.. and then he went and played cards while Seal Team 6 and their support group were in the process of laying their lives on the line… inside a foreign country.. with no permission to be there.I am not optimistic. If the President pulls the chain on this (“limited” strikes.. to accomplish what?) he ‘s making every US & Israeli embassy on the planet high value targets, not that they weren’t already.. but infidel blood will be shed… and then what’s he going to do ? If he does this.. it will escalate.. significantly.If we’re going to shoot.. then we need to shoot to kill. Period. Publicly stating that you’re not going to shoot to kill.. and that somehow gives you a pass on what happens afterward.. is sophomoric (if not infantile..) and is extremely dangerous.12 days until the 9/11 anniversary.. which is also Hillary’s Benghazi anniversary.. and the Obama Administration can’t (or won’t) take care of a few of the known Benghazi perpetrators (but those perpetrators can sit down and do interviews with CNN) who kidnapped and murdered an U.S. Ambassador and direct representative of the President of the United States of America… but the President has stated that it is his intention, albeit he has not yet made “the decision”, to conduct a “limited act of war” against the Islamic nation of Syria.. who is controlled by the Islamic nation of Iran.. who continues to build a (or several) nuclear weapon(s)… in order to “send a message ?”… WTF ?.. over.Do we really think that Iran is going to stop doing what they’re doing because the President of the United States has publicly declared that it is his intention to send the Islamic world a “message”.. in the form of “limited strike”.. and not shooting to kill ?Do you think that if the radical Islamic fundamentalists, who are directly or indirectly sponsored/controlled, by the organizers/proponents of the worldwide Islamic/Sharia Law Caliphate movement (that being the Islamic nation of Iran).. do you think that those radical Islamists, should they acquire chemical/biological/nuclear weapons (presumably with Iran’s permission/direction) will have a public discussion about conducting a “limited strike” against the infidels ?I’ve been of the opinion for a long time that this President is in way over his head.. and I think he knows it as well.. and that’s one reason he’s always on the road campaigning.. instead of governing, not to mention leading, a increasingly divided nation. What disturbs me most however, is the consistent incompetence shown by his senior civilian staff and cabinet positions… as they are the last line of sanity between the powers of the Presidency and the realities of our world.Ideologues do not do well when faced with the realities of the real world on a daily basis… as they continue to approach problems and situations from the standpoint of “how things should be..” as opposed “how things really are”. When you play at this level.. that approach eventually get’s more people killed than necessary.. and telegraphs weakness (incompetence) to your adversaries.. as well as your allies...and, in my opinion, that’s where we are..
