GoDaddy Outlook Emails Hacked, Multiple DMVs Hacked, and UPS On Strike

Foreclosurepedia has seen a recent uptick in requests for migration away from GoDaddy over the past month. During our onboarding process, we have noted that in the past it was simply that GoDaddy charges for https whereas almost all other hosting providers do not. Additionally, GoDaddy charges for domain privacy whereas others do not. And while there have always been hackers permanently embedded in the GoDaddy systems as documented by recent SEC filings,

GoDaddy revealed in an SEC filing that it believes the hackers are the same group that it found inside the company’s networks in March 2020, and which had stolen the login credentials of 28,000 customers and some of GoDaddy’s staff. Then in November 2021, the hackers used a stolen password to compromise 1.2 million customers’ WordPress instances, getting access to email addresses, usernames, passwords, and, in some cases, their websites’ SSL private keys. “Based on our investigation, we believe these incidents are part of a multiyear campaign by a sophisticated threat actor group,” the filing reads.

It has become far worse, though. GoDaddy’s email systems appear to have been hacked shutting down one of our recent Client’s ability to even send email as their system was hijacked and used to transport spam and malware. And always quick to the apology without any substantive corrections, the reality is that it would be more reassuring if it weren’t the third time GoDaddy confessed to being breached by the same hacker group in as many years.

The reality is that Foreclosurepedia has migrated GoDaddy customers into our Founder’s program, which creates two free years of web hosting, migrates Outlook and Google Workspace emails and can convert from Outlook to Google or vice versa, and finally setting up domain privacy and automated updates for a virtually hands off hosting environment. It is time that Labor begins to control their own infrastructures and demands the same out of Management. Reach out today if you have a need to migrate away from GoDaddy.

And as many Industry software platforms are exhibiting their age and obvious penetrations, CNN is reporting that millions of DMVs have been recently hacked alongside US government agencies,

Millions of people in Louisiana and Oregon have had their data compromised in the sprawling cyberattack that has also hit the US federal government, state agencies said late Thursday.

The breach has affected 3.5 million Oregonians with driver’s licenses or state ID cards, and anyone with that documentation in Louisiana, authorities said. The Louisiana governor’s office did not put a number on the number of victims but over 3 million Louisianians hold driver’s licenses, according to public data.

The states did not blame anyone in particular for the hack, but federal officials have attributed a broader hacking campaign using the same software vulnerability to a Russian ransomware gang.

The sweeping hack has likely exposed data at hundreds of organizations across the globe and also compromised multiple US federal agencies, including the Department of Energy, as well as data from major corporations in Britain like the BBC and British Airways. The Russian-speaking hackers that claimed credit are known to demand multimillion-dollar ransoms, though US and state governments say they have not received any demands.

Foreclosurepedia has, for years, documented the security issues with National Association of Mortgage Field Services (NAMFS) technological systems. Spanning the entire spectrum from exposing personally identifiable information to usernames set as admin and passwords set as password, the reality is that NAMFS Executive Director Eric Miller and NAMFS President Matt Zoldowski have refused to take any action other than pave the way for their Verisk masters. Simply take a look at one of the hundreds of documents exposed today which reveals Aspen Grove Solutions ABC Number, PPW Credentials, and Contractor information below,

In the coming days, Foreclosurepedia will begin to release the mountains of data which NAMFS members have left exposed, for years. Should Labor wish their information removed, we will have the NAMFS member information available for them to contact. It simply continues to show how the #TwoForVerisk NAMFS Executive Director Eric Miller and NAMFS President Matt Zoldowski continue to sell out Labor for profit.

Finally, as the Teamsters prepare for an August 1st deadline for launching a strike against UPS, the reality is that six percent of the US GDP is transported across their network. It is unknown precisely what type of economic apocalypse this would cause; however, what we do know is that many within our Industry will be watching it closely including the International Association of Field Service Technicians (IAFST). The IAFST’s stellar rise in the Industry has been watched closely by both Labor as well as several US government agencies. With the collapse of NAMFS, there is a large hole to fill. The IAFST has been moving on Education programs backed by the Open Badge system which many say was never addressed. With a guaranteed six weeks of pay for Labor working in the Industry it seems like a no brainer.

Before You Go ...

Foreclosurepedia exists because readers, workers, and advocates understand that protecting Labor in the mortgage field services industry requires independence, persistence, and resources. We do not answer to servicers, hedge funds, or corporate trade groups; our accountability is to the Field Service Technicians, Inspectors and administrative personnel whose livelihoods are too often treated as expendable. Donations are what allow us to investigate quietly buried contract changes, expose abusive labor practices, and publish work that would otherwise never see the light of day. Every contribution helps keep our reporting free from industry pressure and focused squarely on defending labor standards, fair pay, and basic dignity in the foreclosure ecosystem. If you believe this work matters, your support is not symbolic—it is the reason Foreclosurepedia can continue to stand between Labor and a system that routinely exploits it.
