Eric Miller, the five buck inspection boy and Executive Director of the National Association of Mortgage Field Services (NAMFS) was out hocking his wares again to the unsuspecting Members of Labor. For months, Miller has attempted to spin his yarn that $100,000 would get pay raises into the hands of Labor. And months later, NAMFS has only been able to come up with a paltry $39,000 when you subtract the $10,000 Miller used to prime the pump. Moreover, though, the reality is that the $39,000 has bought nothing other than a $5 raise for NAMFS members on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac inspections — not a penny of that money is guaranteed to Labor. It is no wonder that the Lee Mertins controlled 24 Asset Management has been unable to get any traction recruiting on the recent US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Management and Marketing (M&M) Field Service Manager (FSM) 3.12 contract. For those whom do not know who Lee Mertins is, simply search his name as he operates Assero, an Eduardo San Roman spin up which notoriously short changed Labor on both Fannie Mae and other contracts.
The June 2022 NAMFS Update on their $100K Pricing Initiative informs Labor that NAMFS Members will be able to collect $5 more on inspections from Freddie Mac. Nowhere does it say that a penny will go to Labor and moreover, though, not a dime has been allocated for Field Service Technicians whom perform the enormous profit driven side of the Industry.
The International Association of Field Service Technicians (IAFST) was the first Association to go directly to HUD’s Single Family Housing whom are responsible for the pricing on the Mortgagee Letter (ML) which is what actually controls the vast majority of billing in the Industry. Capitalizing on the Petition Drive IAFST launched, Miller decided to show up a day late and a dollar short — as usual. In fact, neither NAMFS nor Miller had said a single word before the IAFST published their request for price increases. Building on that, neither NAMFS nor Miller had said a single word to HUD, period.
